Help with energy costs in the South Hams

As the weather starts to turn colder and the recent rise in the energy cap, more people are starting to worry about the cost of keeping their homes warm.

Published: 6 January 2026

Citizens Advice South Hams is running a new project called RESET, to help the most vulnerable households in our community by checking if they’re paying too much for gas and electricity, help people understand their bills, find ways of saving energy around the home and make sure they have all the available support they need.

The advice is provided by local, fully trained advisers

If you, or someone you know, fits any of the criteria below, please contact the RESET team on 0800-995-6890 or via the website at resetenergyadvice.org.uk:

  • Spending 10% or more of disposable income on energy bills
  • Has health related vulnerabilities, disabilities or long-term health conditions
  • Is digitally excluded or has limited capability
  • Of pensionable age or on low income, benefits or is socially isolated
  • Is a single parent with dependent children.

RESET can help you make sense of your energy bills, find simple ways to save energy around the home, apply for grants to help with heating costs and get advice on benefits and debt.
