4RDA Four Rivers Dementia Alliance

A dementia friendly community is a city, town or village where people living with dementia and their families are understood, respected and supported, and confident they can continue to contribute to community life.

In a dementia-friendly community, people will be aware of and understand dementia.  To this end, the parish council have removed the dark coloured door mats from the village hall (perception problems) and replaced the information signage to the recommended black aerial font on a yellow background for the toilets and other rooms within the village hall.

The PC have two Cllrs who attend the six weekly South Hams 4RDA zoom meetings and the quarterly South Hams District Council Dementia forum.

More information about the $RDA can be found on their website https://www.4riversdementia.org.uk/
